Two women and one man tried to stone and choke a 40-year-old man to death. They were sentenced to several years in prison. Now, all three have appealed their verdicts to Hovrätten (the Court of Appeal).
It was in mid-August that the victim, a 40-year-old man, was found lifeless in a ditch on the road between Broby and Sibbhult. The man’s injuries were life threatening.
Tingsrätten (the District Court) sentenced a woman (35 years old) who lived with the victim, her brother (26 years old) and her mother (61 years old) to prison.
The 26-year-old got seven years in prison for attempted murder. The 35-year-old woman got four years in prison for attempted murder. The mother was sentenced to four years in prison for aggravated assault.
They were also sentenced to pay 200, 000 crowns in damages to the 40-year-old.
The women have requested via their lawyers that firstly, they should be released and that secondly, they should get milder punishments. The 26-year old is requesting a milder punishment.
The motive behind the assault was a child custody dispute.
