Film festival celebrates its tenth anniversary

This year Kristianstad’s own film festival, Bionalen, celebrates its tenth anniversary. With the theme ’locally produced’ as its base there are several films of current interest which reflect on the state of society.


Among the guests is Manal Masri, who has made the film ”Letter to a serial killer”, a film about Peter Mangs, who may have shot her 16-year-old brother Kamal when he was on his way to football training.

Magnus Ruthberg’s documentary ”Surprise with art”, which is about Marika Wachtmeister, who started Wanås Konst, has its premiere . It is the first to be shown at this year’s Bionalen.

25 films will be shown, including Ruben Östlund’s ”The Square”, ”Den unge Zlatan” ”Jordgubbslandet”, about Polish strawberry-pickers’  hard life in Blekinge, and short films made by young  people in Kristianstad.
